Attachment problems in Outlook
There are several reasons why attachments may give you trouble in Outlook:

- The attachment type is blocked by Outlook: to stop viruses spreading, Outlook blocks certain file extensions (.exe, for example), so you have to change the list of attachment types Outlook blocks if you need to work with them
- It may be impossible to attach a file to an email in Outlook because your mailbox storage is full: in that case, simply delete some messages to free up space and send or receive your email

Outlook blocks an attachment that is too large
When you try to send files by email, Outlook may block an attachment whose size is too great. Outlook, like other mail servers, caps the maximum size one or several attachments can reach. If you try to send an attachment larger than 20 MB, or several attachments whose combined size exceeds 20 MB, Outlook blocks the attachments.
